I have been called fat, a lard-ass, a porker, and a tub, all my life.
There were girls in my class who would weep and undergo deep psychological trauma at being fat-shamed.
But for me, I was comfortable in my own skin.
No amount of barbs was worth hauling me into a gym or worth quitting my pop tarts and Arby’s Curly Fries over. Topped with a large coca-cola (Not diet coke either.) And Ben and Jerry’s.
Gosh, how did I forget B&J?
I would just ignore them and move on with my life.
But, in the midst of a heated argument over his condescending, narcissistic behavior which was starting to eat into my otherwise peaceful existence, Justin, my ex-boyfriend told me that ‘your fat ass can never get a guy like me again’, before walking out on me.
That ladies was the coup de grâce.
Uncle Sam can take a lot of shit, but an insult from a disgruntled ex, we can’t.
That was the moment of awakening for me. Nirvana had occurred.
My name is Janice Boyd and this is my fat-to-fit story with revenge as the motivator.

Losing Fat Is A Messy Business
The next day, I woke up at 5, Sly Stallone style and got dressed and head out for a jog.
Growing up in Philly has its perks. The Rocky Steps are like 20 minutes away and that’s the perfect embodiment of the underdog’s triumph, ain’t it?
I could hear Bill Conti’s music ringing in my ears and Stallone’s crooked face as he punches his fists in the air.
Sadly, that wasn’t to be.
After running for about 10 minutes, a nasty cramp crept up my thigh and I limped back home and slept till noon.
That was the end of that.
Next up was Zumba. Yeah, that looked cool.
Shake the booty until your body turns into a furnace, said the instructor, who was not older than 19, I believe.
That ended in two sessions.
Couldn’t for the life of me figure out what they were trying to achieve. All I could see was muffin tops jiggling all around me.
A friend suggested Calisthenics. Yeah. Now we were talking.
That’s what I meant when I said I was gonna lose weight. Using my bodyweight to burn fat. How cool was that.
Two days into it, I discovered that push-ups are god’s way of punishing us for all our sins.
That didn’t last too long either.
Yoga came next. I discovered a new favorite.
The Corpse pose or the Shavasana. I could do it all day. My instructors though, wanted me to do a crane, as if I was the IP man. Not happening folks.
So, after burning close to $1000 in fitness classes, I decided that there had to be an easier way to lose fat.
As I lay awake till four each day scrolling through success stories of women who had lost weight, I was starting to believe that maybe I really was the lazy ass that Justin, that nasty piece of crap, had told me.
The Importance Of Forty Winks
As I went to my OBGYN that week to get myself checked for endometriosis, she asked me a simple question.
How good is your sleep?
I shrugged it off. Pretty good.
I have always been a little nocturnal, a girl who likes to stay awake till 3 at least.
And I am up by 8, give or take.
‘5 hours?’ She nodded
Then she asked me, how good my deep sleep was? I had no clue about it.
All that I did know is that my sleep was pretty fragile. I could wake up at the slightest of sounds.
I had tried white noise and that shit only made things worse.
Then my OBGYN told me something that struck me like a tracer bullet.
‘Fix your sleep and you’ll fix your weight problem’.
Could it really be that simple?
Could sleeping more allow me to burn fat? I was all for it.
So back home, I started to do some research. As unbelievable as it sounds, deep sleep IS linked to a bevy of conditions that can be precursors to obesity.
Don’t believe me? Check this out.
There are tons and tons of such studies that link chronic sleep deprivation with weight gain.
Why Sleep Can Affect Your Weight
There are two key hormones that play a role in how you gain weight.
Leptin: This is the guy that keeps you feeling full. If you want to lose weight for example, your levels of Leptin must be balanced or at an optimum.
Ghrelin: This dude does the opposite of what Leptin does. It makes you feel hungry. Ever woke up with your stomach roaring for some munchies? That’s what Ghrelin can do.
When you sleep for less than 7-hours a night, you automatically secrete more Ghrelin than Leptin.
When you do this repeatedly over a period of years, you start to gain more weight than what you can burn off.
The result is obesity.
Suddenly, it all started to make sense. I was always a poor sleeper.
I sat down and drew out a pattern of my sleeping habits over the past five years, which sort of stunned me.
In my follow up visit, my OBGYN made it clear that this alone wouldn’t help.
I’d have to stop eating junk and probably start some sort of activity.
But fixing my sleep meant that I wouldn’t crave for junk as much as I was doing right now.
She told me to check out a supplement called Resurge, since she didn’t want to put me on synthetics or Opioids and shit.
She had been using the supplement herself for the past 6-months and it had improved her sleep and weight loss by miles.
Resurge Review: My Experience
Resurge is an all-natural, supplement that addresses the one key problem to weight loss that most fitness brands seem to be ignoring.
It helps you fix problems with your sleep by
Helping you fall off to sleep
By helping you stay asleep
By improving the quality of your sleep
By helping promote deep sleep, also called Stage 3 and 4 sleep.
So, is it like a sleeping pill?
No. Absolutely not. Resurge is herbal, it is non-habit forming, and definitely not addictive.
If I were to pop a couple of Resurge pills in the day, I would probably just feel a little drowsy. I definitely wouldn’t conk off.
But if I take it after bed time when my body is primed to sleep, I will sleep within minutes without fiddling with my cell phone or wondering for hours about stuff that didn’t matter anyway.
Rather than calling it a sleep aid, I would say that it’s an anti-aging nutritional protocol that helps balance out our hormones and in the process, helps us sleep, lose weight, look better and feel energetic.
Which brand makes Resurge?
The first thing that I wanted to know was who was behind it.
While I had never spent a lot of time gobbling health supplements, I had friends who would get panic attacks if they didn’t get their daily multi vitamins or anti-aging pills.
God only knows what they are laced with.
I had also heard enough horror stories about fat loss pills being laced with chemicals that can kill you.
So I decided to do some due diligence. I checked out customer reviews.
There were tons and tons of positive reviews and testimonials about Resurge from people who had managed to fix their weight problems and sleep problems in one shot.
But I am not so naïve to fall for testimonials alone. All it takes is some Photoshop to doctor those.
So I picked up the phone and called the phone number listed on the bottle that my doctor gave me.
I spoke to a very friendly, young lady who gave me the low down on Resurge.
Resurge was founded by John Barban, a Nutritionist, Biologist and Fitness Coach who has also authored numerous books and fitness programs on weight loss, holistic living and functional fitness.
John’s story was the opposite of mine. He had always been fit. But when he suddenly found his waistline expanding, he was bewildered.
After running some tests, he was able to narrow it down to the lack of deep sleep.
Technology had invaded his bedroom, much like it has done to the rest of us and the result was that John was gaining weight for the first time in his life.
After a lot of research, he came up with Resurge, the first anti-aging nutritional protocol that helps address most of the problems that people face these days.
How Does Resurge Work?
Resurge has a blend of botanicals, amino acids and minerals in precise proportions that help induce deep sleep.
Sleep is divided into cycles and each cycle lasts for five stages.
In the first four stages, we go through what is called non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep. In the fifth stage, we enter what is called rapid eye movement (REM) sleep.
Once you cross stage 2, you enter deep sleep.
When you enter deep sleep, your body’s Growth Hormone levels spike.
For those who are unaware, HGH or Human Growth Hormone is known universally as the anti-aging miracle that we were always looking for. Hollywood is obsessed with it and is known to splurge thousands of dollars on injectable versions.
Here are some of the effects of increased GH secretion:
It makes you look younger. Some dermatologists opine that it can knock 10-years off your face.
It increases your muscle tone. If you lift, this is a ticket to those bulging biceps.
It burns fat. Believe it or not, more GH means that you’ll get leaner at the abdomen, your thigh, your butt and any other place of your body that hoards fat.
It makes you active and energetic. Ever woken up feeling lethargic and wanting to drag yourself out of bed? This will change it. Forever.
It boosts your sex life. Your libido skyrockets. I didn’t want to bring this up before, but my sex life had never been great. I’d just do it cause everyone else was doing it. But I had no clue why it was so hyped.
In a nutshell, GH turns you into a better, enhanced version of yourself.
Why spend thousands of dollars on it when you can just prime your body to do the job for you with Resurge?
What Does Resurge Contain?
The next big question for me, was the contents of the supplement.
I wanted to be doubly sure that it didn’t come laced with some synthetic sleep aid.
Thankfully, it only contains safe, side-effect-free ingredients that are available for purchase OTC.
What makes it so effective is the exact concentration and the blend.
Melatonin: This is a naturally occurring hormone that can control your sleep-wake cycle. If you are having trouble falling asleep due to jet lag or just due to the blue light on your mobile phone screen, this will fix that. Resurge contains 10mg of Melatonin.
Ashwagandha: This adaptogen herb will help reduce stress and with it, levels of cortisol, which is known as the stress hormone. Ashwagandha has been proven to be an effective, stress reducing herb which also helps improve musculature and boosts fat loss. In men, it also boosts Testosterone. Resurge contains 150mg of Ashwagandha.
5-Hydroxytryptophan: Naturally occurring amino acid, the low levels of which can affect your levels of serotonin. Supplementing with 5-Hydroxytryptophan can boost serotonin levels which can improve mood, helps fix sleep disorders and also reduce depression and anxiety. Resurge contains 100mg of 5-Hydroxytryptophan.
L-Theanine: Another natural amino acid that helps you relax without making you drowsy. You feel a sense of calm as this kicks in. There’s 200mg of L-Theanine in Resurge.
Zinc and Magnesium: This combo works in synergy and helps improve quality of sleep amongst tons of other positive things. Along with Melatonin, it is proven to help improve insomnia.
Arginine and Lysine: Helps reduce anxiety and combat high cortisol levels, which can wreak havoc with your body in the long run.
You see, every ingredient in Resurge is science-backed to help improve your quality of sleep, improve your overall quality of life, reduce anxiety, reduce stress and also amplify the rate at which you burn fat.
My Results With Resurge
After spending close to a week gathering data and doing research on Resurge, I finally decided to get started with it.
My weight was 192 lbs. and I am 5’6.
On the first couple of days, I noticed a sense of relaxation kicking in within 30-minutes of taking my dose. But I still kept fiddling with my phone until I dozed off and the phone fell on my face.
Damn thing. Day 3 onwards, I started to keep my phone away and hopped on to a book. I started to fall asleep a lot sooner. By Day 7, I had adhered to a sleep habit. I would crash by 11 pm at best.
As I hopped on the weighing scale, I expected no difference because I couldn’t make out any difference in the mirror. But miraculously, I had dropped a pound and a half.
By the end of week 2, I was sleeping a good 7 and a half hours a night. But I wouldn’t wake up feeling groggy. It was like I wanted to get up and do something productive. I began to look forward to the day, if that makes sense. Oh yes, I had dropped a total of four pounds since I started.
By the end of week 3, I had started with morning walks around the neighborhood. Nothing too fancy. Sly Stallone was still a few months away I guess. But yeah, I was walking close to 3 miles and I dropped a good 7 lbs in this week taking my total to 11 lbs.
I started light jogging. I also noticed a reduced urge to eat junk. I wasn’t craving for sugar the moment I woke. So, I also started to do some Yoga, which greatly increased my flexibility. Still no crane, mind you. But I had progressed to the Surya Namaskar. Total weight loss: 14 lbs.
By the end of the second month on Resurge, I was a completely different person. I was eating healthy, I was doing Pilates, Yoga and walking. I was active, my skin was glowing, my hair had become thicker as well. I had lost 33 lbs. since I started with Resurge.
By Month 3, I had lost a total of 55 lbs.
My transformation was finally good enough for me to click before and after pics.
Guess what’s the first thing that I did? I sent it to Justin. I think his jaw dropped on to the floor.
If this is the first time you’ve heard about Resurge or you have doubts about it, here are a couple of questions that will clear the doubts.
Is Resurge a fat burner?
No, it’s not. But it can and it will help you burn fat by allowing you to sleep better. It’s such a unique thing that most people are amazed at how effective something as simple as sleep can be for changing your life.
Is it guaranteed that I will lose fat with Resurge?
There are no guarantees in life. But Resurge backs its products up with a 60-day money-back guarantee. If it doesn’t work for you, send it back for a refund.
Will I have to exercise or eat clean to lose weight with Resurge?
Yes and No. Yes, if you want to get serious with weight loss and adapt to a healthier lifestyle. No if you are just looking to drop a few pounds and get on with it.
Do yourself a favor and grab a bottle of Resurge. Fix your hormones, fix your sleep, change your life.
If it doesn’t work, send it back and get your money.
It’s a no-brainer. TRY IT out now. I am writing this as I am heading on my first date post my break up. Good things lie ahead.
